Customers are able to rent stairlifts from different local stair lift companies. The prices may vary and you will need to pay an installation fee as well as a weekly or monthly rental fee. The companies we contacted required a 3 month minimum. Check with a supplier if the cost of a removal is included with your purchase.

This fee includes removal charges, 3-month rental fees, servicing and breakdown cover, and includes installation fee. There is a $195/month rental fee to rent the stairlift for longer than 3 months. Money-saving tips and reconditioned lifts
Some companies have price matching and will match their competitor’s prices for similar stairlifts. You can ask them if you would like a price match.
It is required by law that all products fit for their purpose. To be on the safe side it is best to buy reconditioned lifts from manufacturers or an established retailer.
Ask for:
- Assurance that the lift has been tested
- Guarantee
- Full-service history
Some companies will offer a discount or communicate with you of any sales that they might have. Sign up quickly to get the discount.
Operating costs
In terms of electricity, stairlifts don’t cost much to run in terms of electricity. One of the manufacturers calculated that it would be around $6 in electricity charges based on 7 trips a day.
